CentOS Linux release 7.7.1908 (Core).

We just fixed the issue by &quot;rerunning&quot; the timezone. The log showed bad characters at the end, &lt;code&gt;America/Chicago^? (^?)&lt;/code&gt;.

We ran &lt;strong&gt;tzselect&lt;/strong&gt; and then chose options 2, 49, 11 for Chicago. Gracefully rebooted the server &quot;&lt;strong&gt;shutdown -r now&lt;/strong&gt;&quot;
