I'm a bit surprised that CachyOS hasn't been mentioned. It's the distro #1 on Distrowatch and the distro that definitely gets the most attention, due to all the gaming optimizations you don't see in the other distros. I migrated to CachyOS this spring, after running Debian and Pop_OS! for several years. I expected instabilities, but have had none.

I’ve been using Manjaro because of the rolling updates, and it’s been amazing for newer games. But I didn’t know Fedora Games Spin even existed—going to test that out now.

Great list!

I’ve been using Pop!_OS for a while, and it really is super beginner-friendly. Steam with Proton works almost out of the box. Might give Garuda a try next since it looks really gaming-focused.
