Dear friends,
The Tecmint.com team is pleased to announce that a long-awaited request from you has become a reality: the availability of the RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) based on RHEL 9 and RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) ebook based on RHEL 8 in PDF format.
Let us tell you why we decided to invest time, effort, and resources to provide you with this possibility.
Besides being committed to providing you with high-quality content, we take great pride in helping spread the knowledge of Linux and Free Open Source Software (FOSS) because 1) we believe in the philosophy, and 2) as part of our worldwide family, we want to help you advance in your career as much as we can.
This ebook, along with the official Red Hat Enterprise Linux official guides, will help you prepare to take and pass the RHCSA (EX200) and RHCE (EX294) exams.
As you know, both exams are aimed at determining if your knowledge, skills, and ability meet those required of a junior and senior administrator, respectively, of RHEL systems across a wide variety of environments and scenarios.
Becoming RHCSA and RHCE certified can help you show potential employers (and current as well) that you have what it takes to contribute to the success of their IT departments, which ultimately means the overall success of the business.
Additionally, the demand for highly qualified Linux professionals with certifications is continually on the rise. But do not take our word for it – let’s take a look at a few well-known online job board sites where RHCSA and RHCE-related positions have been posted recently.
At the time of this writing (July 2023), here are the number of open positions available in each site (click on the numbers to go to the search page with results):
SITE | RHCSA – Job Positions | RHCE – Job Positions |
---|---|---|
Monster.com | 466 | 637 |
Monsterindia.com | 218 | 218 |
Naukri.com | 55 | 959 |
Indeed.com | 550 | 691 |
Careerbuilder.com | 114 | 144 |
As you can see, if you get a Red Hat certification, you are not likely to be left without job opportunities.

Hello Ravi, thanks for getting back to me. I got the LFCSA and LFCE, the only problem I have is I don’t know how to use the ebook with the exam objective. That was the main reason I said if you could point me out to each topic in the ebook related to the exam objective.
Possibly add a section about Stratis and vdo that falls under the new tasks for managing storage and a thin provisioning task in RHEL8.

Thank you in advance,
@Ahmed,
Send you sample as requested to your email address.
Is there any sample of this document that I can look at before buying it?
@Abdulrazzaq,
Sent you sample preview of this book on your email..
Before 1 week the price was 25$ but now increased to 35$?. i didn’t get why they have increased extra 10$.
@Jaipalreddy,
Two years back we changed the price from $25 to $35, how come two weeks? where you have seen? Also if you see other books of Redhat certification they are too costly and rang between $250-$300. We kept very reasonable compare to others..
I am very happy with your quick response of clearing doubts. need a small clarification. I surely buys the above book but the problem is how can i understand the concept without practical knowledge? Is any practical knowledge available such as like video along this book. kindly update…..
@jaipalreddy,
Sorry we can’t provide any video tutorials for practice, but do provided all examples with screenshots so that you can better understand what each command or configuration.
A very thank for your reply…will buy within a week.
I am from India, how can I get this if purchase from this website.
@Jaipal,
Once you purchase, you will get the book copy within 30 mins.
Hi Ravi Saive,
I have standard pdf of rhel cerficationation notes which i have dowloaded, should i buy your provided pdf , the same will present in your pdf right.
Please update your comment.
@Jaipalreddy,
From where you’ve downloaded rhel certification notes? also I didn’t undestand your question clearly…
should i buy the above pdf becoz i already having the standard rhse and rhce pdf which i have downloaded. please clarify my doubt
@Jaipalreddy,
Please clarify, from where you’ve downloaded RHCE and RHCSA PDF? our book is updated one and based on exam objectives..
If the context are available in pdf formats, please share the link
@Manirul,
The RHCSA and RHCE exam contents are available in the PDF format only, but you need to buy this book to get the PDF version.
I am really grateful for your customer service and additional chapters, kudos to you!
How do I get an updated version of the book which I purchased about a year ago
@Andrew,
Since then no updates to book, if any updates we will re-distribute copies to all purchasers..
Concept are explained in very basic level, in depth explanation about the concept would be great a plus here..
its good for beginners
Allow me please for the rhcsa exam, they have a set of questions. getting the first two questions right (no brainer which ones these are) will open the magic box containing the remaining of the questions which are pretty much easy to answer.
Group your questions together and do the hardest and complicated ones first because almost always if you get these wrong you can still start over. The time given is more than enough. I spent 4 years dabbling in UNIX and 6 months in Linux before going for my rhcsa, and i came out of the exam room with 30 mins to spare.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Please mention which chapters are for RHCSA and which chapters are for RHCE, some where beginning of the book , so that it would help to practice efficient way.
BTW it is an excellent concise note for RedHat Certification.
@Subrat,
RHCSA Section (chapters 1 to 15)
RHCE Section (chapters 1 to 13)
excellent review
Sir, is there any ebook on RHCVA (Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator) I want to go for RHCVA certification, if any book or any other source of material where I can prepare for my certification?
Just purchased the book and received it via email about an hour later. About 30 pages in so far and it’s easy to read. Will post again as I get deeper into it.
Hello Sir,
I have been following the resources on your website for almost a year. Now I am planning to take RHCSA exam. I want to know if it is enough to study only from the ebook to appear in the exam or I should study some additional resources?
@Jay,
This book is enough to crack the RHCSA/RHCE exam, as it contains all the exam objectives with practical examples and screnshots for easy understanding..
I just got through the first couple chapters of this guide.
It’s well written. Just like the website, these guys know how go put together information without adding too much to it.
Great job, and $35 is a small price to get well curated information.
Thank you!
By the way do you have or plan to have a kind of exam questions and answers like or something similar to get better prepared for RHCSA /RHCE? I think this could be very helpful for exam and interviews as well.
Have a wonderful day!
Jean.
@Jean,
Currently no any plans about RHCE exam question/answer kind of cheat sheet, but the book this RHCE preparation book covers almost everything about exam point of view.
Great books

Also last time I buy your ebook for $25. Now should I buy the new one for $35 or $10 for the difference or free update?
Thanks,
@Jean,
If you already brought earlier version of book, you no need to pay again as all future updates are free…
Hi Ravi
Do you have the hard copy of the current book with exercise and solutions? If so how much is it cost in USD.
Thanks,
Jean.
@Jean,
Unfortunately, we don’t have printed version of this RHCSA/RHCE book, only available in PDF format.
Hi Ravi,
I understand that this book is one year old now.. Does the syllabus remains the same or is there any major changes with the current exam format which is been updated in this book if I would like to buy now ?
@Siva,
The RHCSA/RHCE syllabus remains same till date, and the book is updated regularly with new updates based on new syllabus..
Hello Ravi,
I wanted to ask you a question about the pdf file. I would like to know if your pdf file was created like the usual ones files created by RedHat called “Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
System Administrator’s Guide” or Your pdf file was created trying to explain how to perform the tasks needed of only objective of the exam?
If so, I would like to buy it. I will wait for your reply.
Thanks.
Nestor.
@Nestor,
Our PDF book contains all the RedHat RHCSA/RHCE certification exam objectives with clear explanations along with practical examples and screenshots that will enough to crack a certification. In fact whoever purchased our book they are passed out the exam in one attempt..
Hello Ravi, Thanks a lot for your answer.
Hello Sir,
Thanks for creating this amazing RedHat certification preparation book..
I don’t have any words to express, but one thing I definitely want to say “Thanks Ravi Sir and TecMint team” for creating this amazing book for us.
Thanks
Hi:
I need to thank you Tecmint team about this helpful web. I have passed both exams RHCSA and RHCE. Many of your advices was really helpful.
Thanks again!!!
@Daniel,
Oh That’s a really great news, congratulations for passing out both RHCSA and RHCE certification…
I passed the RHCSA exam, thank you Ravi… thank you Tecmint.
@Jose,
Oh That’s really good to hear, congratulations man for cracking the RHCSA exam, any plan in taking RHCE? All credit goes to our author Gabriel…
Hi Ravi,
Of course! I’m training myself to be prepared for the RHCE exam. It’ll be a great challenge!!!
Regards!
Hi, I have another suggestion. Having just tried exam ex200 and not even being able to start it, due to the first question (which I am not allowed to mention) can I please please ask you for the sake of others to add a small section about “how to change the root password when that password is not known/not given”. This avoids wasting time in turning up for the exam as well as the 500 euros (the price in The Netherlands) plus vat thx a lot
Ruud
@Ruud,
Thanks for suggestion, will surely include this part in our upcoming updated version, till then you can go through this article for setting forgetting root password in RHEL7.
Thx Ravi … here the official rhel7 link … has more steps … https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/System_Administrators_Guide/sec-Terminal_Menu_Editing_During_Boot.html#sec-Changing_and_Resetting_the_Root_Password
the book is great, help me to obtain the certification RHCSA .
good book for few money.
thanks ravi!
@Carlos,
Good to know that you’ve passed RHCSA exam, any plan to take RHCE? and thanks for finding this useful all credit goes to our author Gabriel..
Hi. Can I make a suggestion on the LDAP section? As I was going through the steps, I decided to do the ldap client side first, so issued:
and this worked fine. The next part, however, did not:
as it could not find it.
It turned out that this part was part of the ‘server’ setup, but that was not clear. So I installed openldap-servers and then the command worked.
The next hurdle was this: creating the ldaprootpasswd.ldif file. It did not state ‘where’ to place it, so in the end I realized it could be anywhere.
Google pointed me at this website: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1206910
which suggested I add an extra parameter “-Y EXTERNAL” … and then it worked:
Might be worth making some additional comments in the LDAP section.
Cheers … Ruud
@Ruud,
Yes, you can suggest any solutions about the chapters in this RHCSA/RHCE book as far its 100% true. We will review and correct the errors if any in the book as per suggestions given by our readers.
Hi, On page 54 the RHCSA pdf states:
Let’s give user gacanepa read and write access to /mnt/playground/testfile.txt. Run as root
and you’ll have successfully added an ACL that allows gacanepa to write to the test file.
This is not correct. It should say:
This is the second ‘typo’ I have found in this pdf. When will you make the corrections for the next person who pays for the pdf?
Regards
Ruud
@Ruud,
Thanks for pointing out the mistake in RHCSA section, we will correct all typos in the next updated version of pdf, till then stay tuned to TecMint..
I think maybe both these are wrong. if were giving access for a specific file, we don’t need the
-R
(--recursive
). So it looks like the only thing that needs to be changed from the original command is to include the filename in the path and remove the-R
.Example 7: Creating hard and soft links
There is no better way to visualize the relation between a file and a hard or symbolic link that point to it, than
to create those links. In the following screenshot you will see that the file and the hard link that points to it
share the same inode and both are identified by the same disk usage of 466 bytes. On the other hand,
creating a hard link results in an extra disk usage of 5 bytes
The last sentence should read … On the other hand, creating a SOFT link results in an extra disk usage of 5 bytes
cheers … Ruud
Please send fresher interview questions
Anyone has passed the exam and get certified using this material?.
See ya,
I just read your email subject “RedHat RHCSA/RHCE Book – Included New Chapter 28 “MariaDB Database Server” you have asked feedback about the book.
Having Microsoft Windows background, I had started the work on Linux with no knowledge but after buying this book I found Linux not so hard as it seems. I am using this book as a reference at work and found it really helpful.
It’s very precise and well organized, each and every topic is well explained which makes the knowledge transfer pretty efficient. The new addition will be a great addition to an already great book. I will appreciate if you can also include tips and tricks to learn Linux for people who have come from Microsoft Windows background. I would also recommend to add practical exam questions which will be very helpful for candidates who are preparing for RHCSA/RHCE exam. Thanks
@Imtiaz,
Thanks for the feedback about the book, for tips and tricks, I suggest you to read our Linux Tips and Tricks section here: https://www.tecmint.com/tag/linux-tricks/
About practical exam questions, we’ve no yet planned, but looking at user requests, we will shall soon provide you a exam checklist, till then stay tuned to Tecmint..

@Daz,
The MariaDB chapter already included and distributed updated copy of book to all users..
It’s good to use for studying.
It’s a good to have thinking to write this book but I will recommend to add practical exam questions and how to as were those questions. It will be very helpful for candidates for RHCSA and RHCE exam. You might also make more money with the adding.
@Jean,
Sure we will add some practical questions about RHCSA and RHCE in upcoming update, but as we promised all future updates will be free, so no way to make more money…:)
I am really grateful for your customer service and additional chapters
I am using the book as a reference at work and it really comes in handy. It’s very precise and well organised which makes the knowledge transfer pretty efficient. I am also preparing for both RHCSA and RHCSE and its been very useful.
Very Good to refreshing my knowledge and I would like to recommend!!
This book is well written and is easily understood by Linux administrators for all levels. I am currently using this book for work, but will be using it for the Red Hat certification. Please keep up the good work and please keep more content coming.
i have really enjoyed the book so far. The new addition will be a great addition to an already great book and I am looking forward to your AWK book. The best part of the book is being able to see the command line used as part of the discussion.
I’m preparing for my certifications, and the books are really great, enjoying every page. I highly recommend to all people preparing for their certifications. Hardcover would be nice.
Very satisfied with this book….each and every topic is well explained and practically showed.
I really happy with this book. It’s very clear explanation with step by step learning.
I purchase the book and enjoy the book . This book is not only to prepare my RHCE certification has many useful for my work and pipe systems are also a great help, hoping to continue to receive updates of this book.
I found the Tecmint RHCSA/RHCSE certification study guide an invaluable resource. Whether you are studying to pass the certification or just want to get a deeper working knowledge of the Linux OS, there is much to be gleaned from this soon to be staple of certification guides. The key term being “working.” In the spirit of the Red Hat Certification, clearly the guide is aimed at those who wish to implement real world techniques with those that align with certification.
As a working Linux Systems Engineer, I can appreciate “cutting to the chase,” where time is a limited commodity and you need proven techniques, all with the understanding you can’t remain static. Particularly useful are the chapters ‘Understanding the boot process’ where we get a thorough yet handy explanation of how it works. That, along with an ‘Introduction to the New Systemd’ were especially useful. Honestly I am doing a disservice to the rest of the guide by singling those chapters out, the rest of the guide is equally as enlightening.
I can’t recommend this guide enough to truly do it justice. If you want a guide that is practical, thorough, useful, and most of all spells out technical concepts in plain English, look no further I’m certain this is your go to guide.
This book is really helpful! I will recommend it to everyone looking forward to taking a RH cert exam.
Hello
Thank you so mutch for your hard work.
I’m still in preparing this certification. But I have not mutch time becase my work take me many time.
Please send me this book updated.
Many thanks
This book is incredible. It is very easy to read and learn from. Very easy to read and understand.
Hi guys,
Really like your books and the effort in order to placed RHEL information together, keep the hard work up not just with the awesome books but in general . I would like to see a book about audit and security one day. Thank you again
@Jimmy,
Thanks for liking this book and thanks for appreciating our efforts, yes we will surely include about audit and security topics only if RedHat include them in RHCSA/RHCE certification..
Thank you for the updating and adding MariaDB section to your awesome book, I have passed the RHCSA and now I have been working on the RHCE. Thanks and keep up the good work.
@Ajmed,
As we promised, that we will keep adding new topics as per RedHat certification point of view and congratulation for passing out RHCSA and good luck for your RHCE preparations..
Really good book and highly recommend to any level of Linux administration.
@Sasha,
Thanks for finding it very useful book and recommending others…
Oh a epub format would be awesome!
@Zleppy,
Your request noted, but to be frank we have no plans yet for epub format, but may be in future hopefully…
Hello Tecmint, Ravi!
From my point of view this book is really helpful for those people who want to be certified in Red Hat. In my case I’m training with this e-book as a guide to improve my skills at work and in the future I might quit my jobs and work by myself.
Some of the topics are just a little confusing but I’m very self-taught person, so in this way I solved some of my doubts / issues I’ve had. I’m still training while I waiting the date of my exam that is coming.
Lots of thanks!!!
Jose Rios
@Jose,
Thanks for finding it very useful, yes this book is created specially for RedHat certification purpose only, may we know which topics making you confuse?
Please! It would be good to add the names of the exact package to be installed in each topic, for example in chapter 7 and chapter 13 there are no the names of the exact package for semanage, cifs, package of firewalld, etc. As I wrote letters above I’m self-taught person and I use to search for the correct information in this case the package name, but it took me a little time.
I’m not complaining about the book because for me is really useful and it is helping me a lot, but it would be great whether you add the names of packages (for specific tool) in each chapter.
Thanks
Jose Rios
[email protected]
@Jose,
Sure we will include correct package names for chapter 7 and 13 as your suggested. Just give us some time to review and add those missing package names..
Being a sysadmin my self wanting to learn even more about Linux this book was a great and i learned a lot of new commands and functions i never knew about.
Its to the point and doesn’t waste you time. Even the explanations are very concise. The only thing i could knock this book for is a pet pev i have with all technical books an thats an explanations on how is this useful, or how can you use it and maybe when not too. Like a recommendation on the use of this command or function.
To take the chapter on LVM as an example its great on explaining everything and introduced me to a new command I’ve never used or seen before (mindblown btw). But an improvement could be why you want to use LVM and not too.
But overall its a steal for the price and wealth of knowledge contained inside.
@Zleppy,
We agree with your point, we will note of it next time, we will try to improve this book based on users suggestions like the one you said..
Hello,
The first edition I bought was cleaver and easy to understand but there was some missing contents.
Every time TECMINT has an update, enlarging the book, I receive the new edition with the same quality and content I found in the first edition.
Congratulations TecMint for the excellent job

This book is essential to prepare for the exam. It provides clearly and concisely all the information regarding the exam. I recommend it to all who want to prepare for the exam but also to those who want to deepen their knowledge of RedHat.
Good job!
Hi Tecmint team,
Recently purchased the Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE Exam Ebook for my junior and found most of the topics covered. Happy with the book. Now my expectation has risen, kindly add more on SElinux and firewalls topics.
Thank you
Well. really good book
Eero, RHCE
Hi Tecmint Team :]
I am French sysadmin and i bought RedHat RHCSA and RHCE Certification Ebook. I would like to give my opinion on your Ebook:
All information is very useful and well explained. Some parties less explicit: SElinux, iptables for example. I think, it lacks one essential thing : practice in a mini work practice (via a VM).
Maybe added at the folder security, extensible attribute (lsattr, chattr) Afterwards why not linked each chapter to practice video…
Thank you :)
@Salanux,
Thanks for finding it useful, and also we don’t have resources to convert them into video tutorials..
@Ravi
Hello! Do you know if in the RHCSA exam will come the mariadb topic? Please if so, don’t forget to add the mariadb topic in the e-book. I’m still training, but I’ve already paid for the RHCSA exam.

@Jose,
Yes we know about this that RedHat included MariaDB to the exam objectives and to be fact, we are in process in updating the book..

Hi,
I am interested in this RHCE book, I don’t have much knowledge about system administrator nor I’ve learn Linux in college or any institution. I only learned CentOS Linux distribution, webserver and Cpanel.
I do have little bit knowledge about Linux, but I want to learn completely, will this book is useful for me to learn Linux from scratch?
@Adi,
This RHCE book covers everything about RedHat certification objectives from A-Z topics except that Cpanel, yes I can say this book is useful as it covers from basic to advance topics on webserver, mail server, network sharing, selinux, etc..
Do you know which version RHEL training is this based on?
@Jordi,
This is completely based on latest version of RHEL 7.0 distribution and all the objectives are covered in this book are based on RHEL 7.0 exam..
I have one question, it is a combined book for RHCSA and RHCE. What if i just want to prepare for the RHCSA? what topics should i cover than?

Love challenge!
@Jose,
The mariadb article is almost ready, if you want you can read here Setup MariaDB Database Replication in CentOS/RHEL 7
I bought this book 3 days ago, and i already read it. I work as sysadmin (using RHEL 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7), and i have some other books/videos from different authors. This book is very useful, it’s a practical approach of the RHEL cert syllabus (RHCSA/RHCE). I think it’s a perfect tool of study if you have some experience, if you don’t, just read and learn from other sites (wikis, forums, official documentation) and practice… practice a lot! Enjoy
Tip: Would be nice if you can release this book in .epub format, changing some colors to match the ebook readers e-ink screen.
Thank you!
@Hector,
Thanks for finding this book very useful as compared to other books on the web, and also thanks for the tip, but we’ve not yet planned in releasing this book in epub format, but let me check with my team..
The Red Hat official guide that you mentioned is : RHEL System Administrator Guide ?
Thanks and have a nice day :) .
when you will add MaraiDB installation and MariaDB Master-Slave replication chapter
@Ahmed,
About MariaDB Installation and Replication – the article is almost ready to add as new chapter to this RHCE book, will update you keep connected..
Thanks Ravi
I passed yasterday RHCSA by using this book thanks alot
@Ahmed,
Congratulation for cracking out RHCSA exam in one sort and good wishes for your career in Linux.
This helps fill in some of the gaps I found in the other books (in particular, permissions with Samba, which is really useful). And, it is cheap! Thanks!
Very very good, I want thank u about this book
Very good ebook to reviewing the arguments in the last day before exams!
The guide is very good and easy for practice. I hope this guide will help me to pass the exam.
good also the new chapter “”Setup Centralized iSCSI Target and Initiator”” . Amazing! :)
I am a junior sysadmin and this book is very useful for me because I want pass RHCSA exam. Documentation on RedHat website usually is not for begginers.
this book helped me pass my RHCSA, now I work towards my RHCE, I hope you guys add the MariaDB Data Base Server soon. thank you guys you have done a great job.
@Amjed,
Congratulations for cracking RHCSA exam through this book and best of luck for your RHCE exam. Yes, we will soon add about MaraiDB installation and MariaDB Master-Slave replication as an update to this book..till then stay tuned to Tecmint..
Nice book,Good start for beginners
The guide very good and easy for practice.
Hey there, what’s up!
I bought the e-book! I bought the e-book at the beginning of this month, I’m reading the e-book and practicing all about it by myself. I’m going to take the Red Hat Certified Engineer in two weeks.
I’m so exited about it!
PD: I think there lack more examples of special permissions for users as you mentioned in page thirty.
After reading this e-book, I’ll say it is worth to pay 25$ dollars. Quite comprehensive and focused not only in content, but in little details that will help you with your certification exam.
This guide is very useful for the study of the certification. It is clear and complete and given the cost is a good alternative to expensive manuals.
Hi,
Very nice this ebook. I try to read and practice all exemple in this book to prepare the exam. I hope this book help me.
At the same time I work like system and production ingenier.
Thank you.
I bought the e-book, and read it. It is very good book. I think this book will give me the push to renew the certification.
This is a great book. currently using it to prepare for the rhcsa 7. Simple and straight to the point and easy to understand.
This manual is laid out in a way that is easy to read and understand. Very good work TecMint.
Great book, well structured and a great learning tool for this certification.
I can’t speak highly enough about TecMint and their endless supply of Linux resources. I’ve been reading articles/tutorials from them for quite sometime and I always enjoy their approach to presenting information. So, naturally when they published their own RHCSA/RHCE Exam ebook, I had to get it. I’ve been reading it for about two weeks and it’s GREAT! I highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for solid Linux materials.
I was planning about doing Red Hat Certification but confused about how to start the preparation then I heard about this book from one of my superiors at work and immediately purchased this book. Now, I started the prep and confident enough to crack the certification after reading this book. I would like to highly appreciate the authors for preparing this book and also I highly recommend to refer TecMint’s blog and books for all Unix Users. Thanks TecMint!
I like the book. It gives direct and clear descriptions of the RHCE objectives. I use it after I study a full chapter in another study guide to narrow the necessary requirements.
I love this book. Its not for noobs but has good advice and tricks for the rhcsa and rhce.
Hi, this is a nice book. Please send me the updated copy via email. L
An excellent guide to prepare yourself to RHCSA & RHCE certifications. Very clear and complete. It allows to study the fundamental arguments necessary during the exam. Given the low price it is ideal if you do not want to spend too much in other manuals.
Very good book for the price. Easy to follow and understand
Great book for rhce certification
Great book, very good examples from covering all aspects of the curriculum. I hope you will include MariaDB installation and replication next
@Amjeb,
Thanks for finding this book useful, about MariaDB replication, we’ve already covered here, take a look: https://www.tecmint.com/mariadb-master-slave-replication-on-centos-rhel-debian/
I am planning on taking the Exam and this book has really helped to build up knowledge and confidence.
An excellent source of information all in place that you can work your way through quite easily.
Great investment! Keep the tutorials coming…
A very useful guide for working towards RHCSA and RHCE certification, definitely recommended.
@Brian,
Thanks for finding this book useful for you and thanks for recommending to others..
I have found that this book is helping me understand the topics for the ex200 that I was having a hard time understanding. Keep up the good work.
Nice book and easy language too.
Thanks for saving life.
Very useful book. I’ve passed RHCE on RHEL 5 ( in 2008, I believe ). I wish I’ve had such fine tailored book that time. Keep going. Thank you.
This book is very very good in order to achieve RHEL 7 certification (rhcsa and rhce). Good work!congratulations!
I have been reading and learning Red Hat Linux using this book and articles published on the Tecmint website. Both are very well written and point across things that are difficult to understand. I have been reading other books on operating systems and networking and it is like they don’t want you to understand anything – just implement it as they seem fit. I have been very impressed with this book since it answers the questions you have when implementing systems and I am sure it is on the of the best materials that is going to help me pass RHCSA and RHCE later this month.
@Miltja,
I am the author of the book and I wanted to thank you for your kind words about it. Did you pass the exams? I hope so. Please share your experience with us.
@Gabriel
No problem – keep up the good work! And yes, I actually did pass the RHCSA exam and I am about to take RHCSE next week. I will keep you updated on that.
To add to my previous review I truly believe this is one of the best books available to get you prepared on both exams. Sure it won’t get you passed without some practise but it sure does point you in the right way.
The book is really well packaged and inspires me to take up the Exam. I am a certified Cloud Solution architect and have been thinking about getting myself equipped with Linux certification. I think this will give me the push to achieve the certification
In the future could you masked ePUB versions of books available as well?
@Lord,
We’ve not yet planned, but after considering your request, we will soon make this book available in ePUB format..
I’m so blown away and this book exceeds my expectations and heck, I’m feeling really inspired to take both the RHCSA and RHSE exams. I’ve scrambled across the internet in search of a resource that matches up to this one — both in quality and pricing — but found NONE. irrespective of your skill with Linux, you will find this Ebook to be very informative as it breaks down everything into teeny tiny bits of details for the most comprehensive understanding of every chapter. Also given that you’d get subsequent updates for free of charge after a one-time purchase of $25 is more than enough.I wholly recommend it to whoever is looking to take any of these exams in the nearer future.
@Jesse,
I am the author of the book and felt I should thank you for your kind words about it. Wish you the best of luck!
Hi,
After going through the book I should say its very well assembled. Specially in terms of explanation and screen grabs. Also index is very clear about where it takes. If we combine this with practice then certification preparation becomes even more easier. Would surely recommend the book.
Thanks,
Mukesh
I did a review and analysis of what it really offers and surely the only way to discover the benefits of this book is to check it out. It is a great study guide for any one taking RHCSA/RHSE exam.
It offers great knowledge for newbies trying to get their way through the Linux ladder and also for experts as an additional and referential guide.
Therefore i encourage everyone interested in Red Hat certification exams to have and use it .
Many thanks to Tecmint.
I recently purchased this Red Hat certification guide from TecMint to help my preparation towards RHCSA/RHCE exam and seems that this book is excellent and covers all the objectives of Red Hat exam with nice practical examples along side screenshots. Even though I am novice user and I never really installed or configured, but this book helped me in setting up everything through its step-by-step instructions and how to perform tasks.
I must recommend to buy this book to those who are planning to take Red Hat certification exam.
Hello ravi can you provide RHEL 6.7 version also.
@Vivek,
Unfortunately, we don’t have for RHEL 6.7, the book is only created after looking into the demand of RHEL 7.0 certification..
Thanks for this great work. Does this book have a few practise exam or tests .Thanks
@Chukky,
Thanks for appreciating our work, no we don’t included in any practice tests, but we do includes all required objectives of Red Hat certification with practical examples along with screenshots so that you can better understand about chapters we’ve included..
Is the material good for RHEL 6 ?
@Nikhil,
This book is specially created as per RHEL 7 certification exam objectives and I don’t think it’s good for RHEL 6 preparation. May I know why you asked such question? why you want to give exam on RHEL 6? when RHEL 7 has high demand in market.
I bought the book, but please promise us to give us updated version of the book if you find any bug or typo.
@Lateef,
Don’t worry you will get all feature updates for free for lifetime..
I just got the chance to go through this book and I have to say that it’s a must read if you want to take the RHCSA or RHSE exam. As the article said, the book guides you through every point and I personally think that it answers any questions that might pop-up in your head. If you are a newbie or just have some basic Linux knowledge, I recommend going from chapter to chapter and testing all the examples on a local computer. Thanks to TecMint I took my LFCS exam and I think anyone who’s taking on the RHEL exams by studying from this book, will do good! Also the training on RHEL site costs $400 while the book is $25. I think this is a great deal.
Hi,
Congrats for your work, could you send me a sample preview please, thanks !
@Jean,
Thanks for appreciating our work, as requested I’ve sent a sample preview of book to your mailing address. Please check and give us your feedback about the book before making purchase..
Hi,
Index is very nicely setup covering all the topics which are essential for certification.
Just in the chapter which is available in the book, i thought maybe instead of 1 example per section you can add 2-3 examples covering all the variations of the commands.
Rest everything till i am seeing is great..
HI Ravi, thanks for your email about the book update.The book is very good.
I’m already RHCE, with a couple of security related RedHat certifications of expertise. I bought this eBook yesterday, in order to support TecMint team in the work they do for Linux community. I haven’t had a chance to spend too much time with this book yet, but I have to say from what I’ve seen so far, it’s quite well done, and covers pretty much all the important topics necessary for passing the exam. I’ll still need to spend more time with it, but at this moment I feel comfortable to recommend it to anyone preparing for the RHCSA/RHCE certification. And it goes without saying that only reading the book won’t help. You’ll need to spend some hands-on time with it in a lab as well.
@Juraj,
Thanks for purchasing the book and supporting us! Yes, this book covers all the objectives of RHCSA/RHCE certification exam with complete real life practical examples as per exam point of view and we damn sure that those whoever purchase this book, they will definitely going to pass RedHat certification for sure. We want you to go through it and give a brief review about this book, so that it will help other users before purchasing the book.
Is this book aimed at beginners or just advanced users?
@Chris,
This book is specially created for both beginners and advance users, but still a beginner must have a little bit knowledge of Linux to understand the some complex things like SELinux, Network Routing and Bonding, Apache, etc..
very good reference for RHSCA and RHCE exam .but it should include also section for exam crtical tips like:
-How to recover password
-How to edit grub2
-How to Build local and remote repository
i think without those tips any one can confuse through exam time even he know all exam topic
Thanks Ravi for your efforts
@Ahmed,
Thanks for giving your valuable feedback about book, but to be fact these suggested topics are not included in RedHat certification. If you still want to learn them, here are the guides:
How to Password Protect Grub by Editing Configuration
How to Recover Root Password in RHEL/CentOS 7
How to Build Local and Remote Repository to install Updates
Hi Mr. Saive,
I am interested in this book. Has it been officially endorsed by Red Hat?
@JL,
Red Hat never endorsed any of the book available on the Internet, but trust me this books is completely written by keeping in mind about RHCSA/RHCE exam objectives and each chapter explains important topics with real world examples. If you want I can send a sample preview of book to your email address to have a look and decide..
Hi
Can you send me a sample preview of book asap.
