May I suggest you also talk about the &quot;less&quot; command. I myself use very often, to go up and down in a file, and with search options too. It also has the g and G options to go directly to beginning or end of file.

Also, you might mention the &quot;view&quot; command, the read-only version of vi, which can be very useful to look at a file with all the vi search options, without risk, since you can&#039;t edit it.
