Due to our Hardware configuration (32Bit) , we have to install Version six. We did and so fareverything got fine. But when entering the created pasowrd nothing happened. There is a black sceen with the mouse on it only. How shall we proceed?
Its’ happens may be because of low memory. you need to increase your memory to get GUI mode.
i am having a prob with the app store it is not letting me install any thing it will down load it and then it will go to upgrading then it says it has failed any way to fix this problem?
I have a problem, after starting Screen of Pear Linux 6.1 i have got only a black window.
Help please.
Yes. I have the same problem. Did you fix this?? If yes tell me how please.
Hi.
I have just downloaded the 64-bit version.
Have a question however:
On which version of Ubuntu is Pear Linux 6 LTS based, 12.04?
Yes Pear Linux 6 is based on Ubuntu 12.04.
Pear Linux suffers from lack of originality. It’s basically elementary OS (no, really, Pear Linux uses elementary’s applications) with Docky instead of Plank for the bottom dock.
Same window manager (Gala), same panel (Wingpanel, not Pear Panel, that really cracked me up man), same GTK Theme (eGTK), same icon theme (elementary), etc.
It’s really funny how they’re trying to claim credit for aggregating the binaries of several applications made by others, resulting in an OS which is actually *inferior* to elementary OS Luna.
It took alot of from Elementary, BUT it is better and more improved than Elementary. I installed as of today latest Elementary Luna B2 and Pear OS 7, and there is NO contest. Pear OS is smoother, more polished, faster, and better in every way. Elementary is run and developed by several people vs one person with Pear OS and it’s developed at a muchhhh faster pace. You can extol all the elementary os capabilities, but it is Pear OS that made users like me from Windows actually switch several machines to Linux based OS in Pear. Not even Ubuntu, Mint, or other derivatives could say the same. Pear OS is much nicer folks. don’t let the haters or jealous people of Elementary make you see incorrectly.
@Samson
